After checking themselves in the mirror each morning, making sure each feather is perfectly groomed, the girls like to take turns sitting on this chair in the front garden.
They always softly purr when they are here.
Chickens purr when they are happy and content. It's also one of the ways they communicate that they are peaceful and don't wish to be disturbed.
My chickens purr so much, and this is down to them having their needs met, free ranging and foraging each and every day.
They have a warm, comfortable and safe night house and a variety of foods, from seed to fruits and other specifically cooked grains.
My reward for taking such good care of them is hearing them contently purring on a daily basis...
