Churchman Brook Dam is a place I have not visited before, I had heard that there were several beautiful walks through bushland near the dam.
It's a peaceful 54 kilometre drive each way winding through the hills, so I was ready to stretch my legs when I arrived.
Unfortunately the two main walking tracks were roped off, access denied!
I assumed this was because it's still really hot and with no rain a fire would be unstoppable and out of control in minutes.
Instead of a long walk through the treetops I instead took a short stroll from the bottom carpark up to the top of the dam itself and took in the view and enjoyed the peacefulness.
When the weather cools and the rain begin once again I might come back to explore those trails that disappeared into the dense forest...
