High up on a dead tree sitting in majestic perfection was a nankeen kestrel.
One of the smallest of the countries falcons and one that will perch and watch for prey as it was doing here. It will also hover a short distance above the ground as it hunts for reptiles, small mammals and birds.
A couple of quick photos and then it was gone.........

Yes it was, would have loved a few more photos on lower ground.
