Stopped In My Tracks.......

 Stopped in my tracks and completely mesmerised by this spectacular red flowering gum tree.

The photos don't really do it justice, standing out from every other plant around it this tree was like a beacon drawing me nearer to take in every aspect of it's beauty.

Tiny ants were joining the bees and other insects feasting on the nectar as birds flitted in and out of the flowers.

With some of my acacia trees which line the boundary fence dying over summer not able to cope with the intensity of the heat this year I was wondering  what to replace them with when I sadly have taken them out.

Once the rains begin one of these is definitely going to be planted......
