Early August there was lots of colour decorating the view. Some flowers had appeared a little too early, and others were in their peak. The ducks had begun to slowly drift back, only a couple of pairs, but before too long many will return with their fledglings in tow.
Years seem to be flying past, weeks a blur. Over the years the garden has gone from a sandy hot shadeless expanse into a shady haven. Plants have died whilst others thrived, all creating what now surrounds me.
Each day is a gift, one we are not always grateful for. Some days it's a struggle to get out of bed, other days energy levels are high from the moment my eyes open. Of late, I have spent moments wondering how much longer I will be living this life. As years go by I find myself less inclined to look forward more than the day in front of me. I also find myself pondering the purpose of the whole human experience. What on earth is it all about? We arrived with nothing, spend our lives collecting stuff, only to leave the same way we arrived.
With nothing.
Watching the cycle of life in a garden gives one a perfect vantage point to view this phenomena.
Watching beginnings and endings and how life continues to flow...
