A new holland honeyeater having a few quiet moments on it's own.
These birds along with many other smaller birds flit about the garden all day long. The new holland honeyeaters also nest in the garden. There are three breeding pairs that I have located. All the pairs have had at least three clutches of chicks this year and the last of the fledglings are now joyously joining their parents in the garden.
Because I tend to keep the garden very natural and wild these smaller birds have safety n the dense foliage which helps to protect the chicks from larger predator birds.
It is always such a priceless moment when I see the young chicks out learning to fly.
Given that the smaller birds are a bit nervous the cottage provides the perfect hide to watch the daily antics in the garden. And allows me to witness some truly beautiful moments......
