Visiting Lesmurdie Falls...

Visiting Lesmurdie Falls yesterday the lack of rain is beginning to show the land so dry it is  practically gasping for the relief the rains will bring.
I was surprised to still find a little water running through the streams however at this time of year the falls are usually quiet spectacular as water cascades over the clifftop.
Not many birds around which again is a sign that the seasons here are totally out of whack and the plants who offer up a bounty of blooms this time of year are still holding their buds dormant until the rains appear.

According to the sign this is where Western Australia use to be connected to India some 135 million years ago,  the Darling Scarpe was once a line of cliffs to the ocean below.
If only the rocks could speak what a tale they would tell, as it was standing here gazing upon the huge granodiorite rocks was a humbling experience.
These ancient and untouched boulders are extremely lucky to have missed out on humanities destruction of this amazing planet we all reside upon they are still as they were many millions of years ago and I trust they always remain so...…..
