Sunday morning strolling around the garden dew thick on the grass and the ringneck parrots also known as 28's coming to snack on the treats I have given to the chickens.
One of my pincushion hakeas has begun to open, this one has not flowered before, it's only been in a year as the previous one died last summer due to the relentless heat that year. Out of the four hakeas I have only one flowered last year and it only produced a lone flower so very excited to see several blooms on three of the trees this year.
The herb garden is finally thriving after removing a nearby chair that the chickens used to get up onto the raised garden bed to help themselves to the sweet succulent shoots.
My heartsease plants are now beginning to flower too, the flowers add a colourful addition to salads or you can make a tea from them as well. Looking forward to harvesting a few to dry them out for use later.
The jade also has begun to flower, this one has a bit of a history I am it's third caretaker, up until I was given her she spent her life in a pot.
Now she has grown such a lot with the ability to lengthen her roots, I have even nurtured a broken branch which is now quickly catching up in size.
A newly acquired windsock adds a splash of colour and fun.
It is quite mesmerising when it dances in the wind.
This acacia has grown a lot over the summer months, no sign of flowers as yet, however I am anticipating a good bloom this year.
The bee water station, I have placed rocks in the base to assist the bees in having a drink without the fear of drowning, the smaller birds tend to like this to drink from and bathe in too.
One of my several flinders range wattles in full bloom.
This tree is home to the yellow-rumped thornbills they flit in and out all day long.
The foliage is really dense and I am trusting will provide a safe haven for them in the breeding season.
A lone gervilia reaching out towards the morning sun.
Another of the grevilia's that has slowly begun to produce flowers, the seasons are all out of whack given the length of the summer and many of my grevilia's have not even got buds on as yet.
The honeyeaters are beginning to become impatient as by now these plants should be in full bloom.
Another hakea is getting ready to explode in a burst of colour, she was the only one of the four to flower last year producing one single perfect flower.
Cheeky Chook having a reflective moment.
My wisteria is still green and has new growth appearing when she should be shedding in preparation for winter, seasons are all a bit strange here and the plants don't seem to know what they are suppose to be doing. Hopefully things will settle into some sort of normalcy soon...….
