Visiting Mussel Pool several weeks ago I was greeted with some newly hatched ducklings that were following their mother as she looked for somewhere secluded to shelter her babies. Thankfully the zoom lense on my camera allowed me to photograph this precious family from a safe distance.
This particular day there was a lot of possum fur scattered about the leaves of many bushes. It was the breeding season, so I assume that was the reason.
It was also heartwarming to see water still quite abundant, there have been years where this pool has remained dry throughout the winter when droughts have plague the land.
There's a well maintained grassy field which on the weekends is usually packed with picnicking families. I prefer to meander around the area midweek, avoiding crowds, that way I can enjoy the ambience peacefully...

Beautiful views. I love the green 💚 and reflections. The ducks are always a joy to see.
How wonderful to be able to see all that nature. My favorite was the duck mom with her chicks.
