A Little Stroll...

A little stroll around the wildflower walk at Wireless Hill was a lot different to my first visit here a few months ago. Then it was still cold and the wildflowers were vibrant and the winter grasses softening the landscape. Now as the spring sunshine gets increasingly hotter, the delicate grasses have dried, as have many of the other flowering plants.
There were copious amounts of banksia in flower, as well as balga trees, also known as grass trees. Their tall spear like flowers are quite magnificent, and attract bees and birds as their delicate scent disapates in the gentle breeze.
Some plants were still adding a splash of colour in the understory as well, whilst the furry seed pods of other plants add an interesting view.
When drying out and going to seed, the kangaroo paws do appear more like paws as the furry blooms fade to brown.
Scurrying could be heard as I strolled along, as well as a beautiful chorus in the trees as birds serenaded each other...
