The Six Seasons...

The six seasons of which the traditional peoples of this area of Australia once followed are depicted beautifully here.
 Not all indigenous tribes across the country follow the same names for seasons, as well not all recognised the year as having six seasons.

Birak
The first summer 
December - January
Season of the Young
The burning Season

Bunuru
The second summer
February - March
Season of adolescence.
The hottest season with little to no rain. 

Djeran
Autumn season
April - May
Season of adulthood
The season where the land begins the cooling process.

Makuru
First rain
June - July
Fertility season
The season where the rains return.

Djilba
Second rains
August - September
Season of Conception
The season of many flowers.

Kambarang
Flowering season
October - November
Season of birth
