A strong easterly wind tore through the trees and gave the weir the appearance of a stormy ocean as it rushed across the surface of the water. The appearance of the easterly winds heralds the arrival of summer, hot dry weather lingers ahead. The fragile grasses already dried laying brown and wilted. A few shady nooks have provided dimmed protection for some area of the gardens these though will soon suffer the same fate as the rest of the area.
Visiting Mundaring Weir is not something that I do often, the weir is a short 20-minute drive away, so it is not that far, I do pass through the forest in which it lies on a weekly basis.
In this part of the weir though one can normally see a small mob of kangaroos, and thankfully today was no exception. As on all visits to this part of the weir the kangaroos could be found relaxing on the drying grass under the shade of a towering tree...

Lots of pretty plants and kangaroos too! How lucky you are.
Kangaroos are always a bonus.
The roos look quite at ease.
Yes, this mob is quite relaxed.
