Change......

Change is not something the kitty's tend to take in their stride. I knew that they would be a little nervous about having their enclosure moved, however I was surprised at how upset they all were with this change in their routine.
I moved the enclosure for easier access when stacking the wood, and thought I would leave it where I had it as the pen is more undercover here.
Yesterday Nala hid and would not go out, how on earth she knew what is store I have no inkling.
Miss Bear and Charlie lasted but a few minutes before howling to go inside again. This new spot is more open, hence they feel less secure, but with it comes a much better view of the garden.

This evening was a little more successful.
All three out and exploring the smells, and towards the end settling down to watch the birds.
Tomorrow I am going to place a chair in there for them as well as for me to use.
Maybe they will last longer outside if I am in there with them, even today sitting mere centimeters away was too far.......

And Guess What....

And guess what?
It was cool enough for a fire to be lit tonight.
I am certain I heard a cheer from the felines!
Anyway musical chairs unfolded as the cottage heated up, rather swiftly too I might add.
As the cats got hotter they kept moving, from here to there.
I have retreated to my bedroom as it was far too hot to stay in the living room.
Really funny actually.
Sometimes like tonight I need to open the doors to let the cold air in because it gets unbearable.
Sort of defeats the purpose I know.
I think whoever placed the fire in before I moved here must not have realised how hot this fire would get in such a tiny house.......

Next On The.....

Next on the agenda today was to move my ceremonial fire.
I did not have a plan to do this, it simply was the right time. It was almost as it the fire was calling to come sit in the healing smoke.
I had been stating for a couple of years now that I was going to move the fire to this spot, yet still it remained where it was.
Naughty me!

No wonder I wasn't being called to use it.
It needed to be down in the little secluded circle where it is now. This part of the garden is extremely private and not used for anything else, in fact except for watering in the summer months I sometimes ignore this nook during the winter.

So it was duly activated.
As the wind took away the old stagated energy in one gust it ushered in new vibrant, uplifting, healing energy on a following one.......

Today Was......

Today was a productive day, before the wood delivery I had already been busy.
Many new plants placed in the front garden.
Most of them around the pond, grasses, kangaroo paws and other plants that will grow to create a really bushy habitat for the frogs living in the front garden.
Some evenings the chorus sung to the moon by the frogs is really loud, amazing how they appeared days after the pond plants were brought home.
Not sure where all the frogs came from, as I have never seen a tadpole in the ponds. So I went to research native frogs. I discovered that the frogs are burrowing frogs who lay eggs, who would have thought that?
Not me obviously!
Amazing what caring for a garden teaches one.

I have thought about getting a solar powered fountain/water feature.
The water has more oxygen thanks to the plants and it is filled with allsorts of microscopic life and is very clear.
It's the sound of trickling water that I feel will complete the pond area.
Hopefully loud enough to hear inside the cottage.

I have also moved my fairy garden to nearer the ponds. All sorts of secret treasures can be seen clearly now, as the garden grows though the little secrets will be more difficult to locate.
Feeling that the water element adds an air of mystery to a my miniature fairy kingdom, especially with a growing number of resident dragons keeping watch........

The Delivery......

The delivery today of a tonne of wood to keep the cottage toasty warm all winter. That is if we actually get any cold weather.
Although today started off with another torrential downpour the sun once out from behind the clouds was again too hot.
Each year I go through the same process when I look at the task of moving a tonne of wood piece by piece. It appears to be daunting. So I have a method. I tell myself it is a joyous thing to do and I put on soothing uplifting music.
Before I knew it I was down to the last barrow load, which actually was the killer load.
It sat there waiting while I prompted myself to get up and deal with it after stupidly stopping for a rest......
