A Visit.......

A visit to my son's recently to see him, the grandpups as well as see the changes in his garden.
Like me his love for his own piece of Gaia has become his passion. It's getting on for two years since the plants replaced half of the lawn. Like my place the plants were slow to become established, the first summer had a few casualties as plants struggled under the severity of the sun.
I do wonder how any plant survive the summer months downunder.
Now the vision a reality.
A calming natural oasis to relax in and watch the increasing bird visitors that are frequenting the garden.

This year we had both decided to plant some bulbs amongst our native gardens, his have a head start on mine and are already sprouting, mine a little slower to appear.

Of course no visit here is complete without at least one photo of the grandpups. Cooper and Banjo patiently waiting for a treat. They were both very attentive waiting for the gesture that it was okay to eat, such good manners........

Three Traumatic Events.....

Three traumatic events disrupted my world over the weekend.

The least traumatic was Miss Bear breaking the toilet, which resulted in the cottage being flooded!
Lovely!

Little Miss Bear likes to sit on the cistern to look out the window when I am out in the garden. Well, she did like it. Hasn't been on it since disaster struck.
The cistern came away from the wall when she jumped on it.
The crash was heard when I was out in the garden with visitors, and in the few minutes it took to get inside water was gushing everywhere.
Pictured above looking rather relaxed she did get over the incident quicker than I. Not having an inside toilet for twenty four hours was a bit of challenge.
Everything sorted 24 hours later, phew!

The other two traumatic events are still too raw to share, perhaps in the future I may write about them, but for now I am really grateful for one particular little fluff ball who seems to know when a bit silliness is required to cheer up his human.

Thank you Charlie.....

A Conversation About....

A conversation about music recently saw me realise how many of us stay stuck in life, not just musically but in all aspects of life. Keeping with the familiar and known and not daring to dip your toe in the unknown.
I know that the local pub only plays the same repetitive stuff year after year, and that loud that I can't escape from it even when inside the cottage. And I wonder why do people want to listen to the same stuff over and over?

Music like everything else in my life shifts and flows as I shimmy along in my life story.
I am always discovering something new in the music arena, many I share on here in my posts wondering whether they move others as they move me.
Sometimes it is the music itself that inspires, other times it is the lyrics that say something that speaks to my heart, involks joy or simply makes me want to dance around the house.

Never one to follow popular music as such, if I had to pick a favourite though it would depend on my mood at the time.
Currently I have a variety of artists that I enjoy, but in a few months perhaps I may have discovered something new.

There is one piece however that I will return to time and time again, one that I love to play in the garden, and perhaps I am mistaken, but I feel that the plants do enjoy this piece the most.
Beethoven's ninth, by the Berlin philharmonic conducted by Herbert Von Karajan, there is something timelessly exquisite about this piece and musically nothing in my humble view ever quite compares........

Sam Garrett - The River

That Moment....

That moment when the kitties realise that I am about to leave the cottage.
Shock and disbelief that I am actually going to leave them home alone.
Nala will often sit looking awfully forlorn gazing out of the window as I leave the driveway.
And each arrival home is the same, three little faces peering out of the windows and running to the door to say hello the moment I enter.

There are many people who state they don't like cats because they view them as boring or not as interactive as dogs.
They have obviously never bothered to interact with a feline.
Like dogs cats can have deep bonds if the human is willing to open themselves up.
A house without a cat in my view isn't really a home......

Finding A Place.....

Finding a  place to stop for lunch today where I could observe the beautiful stormy weather brought an unexpected visitor, who I  found adorable.
If may I add was very noisy and demanding!

Then slowly the tone of the day suddenly shifted, my phone swapped for my camera and then swapped back again as I tried to capture the atmosphere shifting and changing.

It's been a long, long while since I have been down at the coast when a storm front hit.
The anticipation, the violent energy swirling around overhead made me realise how insignificant we humans are in the grand scheme of things.
The fury that was unleashed, and it's fury had many a motorist looking for the nearest place to stop until the lashing rain has subsided.....

This Has To Be.....

This has to be the most inspiring boundary wall I have ever seen.
Plus may I add  am a tad envious!
Yes, really I am!
I think it is an amazing piece and I would always smile coming home to this.

I have a few artist friends who I have decided to approach and see if they know a way of getting my boundary fence to become a work of art , I hope as fabulous as this.

It could be a way to promote street artists and give me an original work of art at the same time.

Pondering the possibilities........

Finally.....

Finally my book has arrived!

Given the state of things at the moment it's taken this book just short of three months to arrive from America. Not one for reading a book on a device, reading a book is an experience in itself, so the wait was worth it.
We all walk through life on autopilot most of the time, what we say and think like most other things throughout our day is mainly done unconsciously.
So when I came across this book I thought I would see what it has to say.

Having a quick flick through it has a lot of speech changing exercises to assist one in being conscious of what they think and say. It states that it can help you use your whole brain, stop self-sabotage behaviours, a system for upgrading human consciousness, and speak from the heart.

In simple words it is a book about heart language.
A journal is required as there are quite a few exercises to be done to educate the self from one way of speaking to another.......
