With 29 posts from April still waiting to be published, I decided that these photographs taken yesterday morning of my pincushion hakea were not going to wait until I catch up with publishing my adventures.
These flowers are the most spectacular and unique blooms and I simply cannot get enough of them.
I spend countless moments sitting and watching this tree at this time of year.
I feel blessed to be so aware of my surroundings, not missing a moment.
Each year is the same.
I get lost in the beauty of each individual flower.
I am always moved to silent awe, no matter how many years I witness the flowering of this tree.
The result is always the same, it always stops me.
Awestruck by these utterly astonishing flowers and the stages they go through to eventually bloom fully.
I watch.
Observe.
Lose hours as life unfolds busily around me.
The bees are so busy happily buzzing from one flower to another that they appear not to see me.
Some disappear deeply into the fluffy centres of the flowers, it's truly wonderful to see.
At times like this I feel I am intruding into realms that are private.
Yet there I stand silent and smiling as magnificence unfolds before me...
