This was once where I came most evenings to watch the sun setting and then slowly disappeared from view. It was for a time how I ended each day.
Home was five minutes away by car; or a half hour walk.
It was also where I walked most days after work, always grateful for the cool water to retreat to on sweltering days.
The currents here are unpredictable and extremely strong so I never ventured far when swimming.
Returning here was rather strange, it was a lot quieter when I lived here, now there's a café and a monstrosity off the coast, which I must say was more than a huge eyesore.
The area lost it's appeal when the suburbs began inching ever closer to the sand dunes.
The dunes did have a lot of wildlife, now I am not so sure as the natural habitat has shrunken a great deal.
This stretch of beach can be wild and was a place where I ambled for hours. The rocky outcrops which helps keep the sand dunes protected also house small crabs.
I didn't venture down to the shoreline this particular day, perhaps I may return in the future for a walk.
The wooden stairs that take you down to the sand appears to have taken a battering or two in recent storms. I recall how violent the waves become on stormy days. Although the vista was calm this day, the view alters significantly when the weather is stormy...
