Wandering along in Parkerville and then Hovea a few weeks ago. The rains had well and truly set in by then. Sadly, though parts of the bushland in Hovea had been really impacted by the heat the previous summer. The foliage around the little waterhole mostly dead, creating a fire hazard as spring leads us once again into summer. A sadness enveloped me, and I found myself turning around and heading home...
