Setting out while it was still relatively cool I took myself on a walk around the gardens at Mundaring Weir. The perfume of the rose garden filled the air, the roses were planted in 1906, and these roses really do look like they've been there that long. There's something ancient about them.
The roses aren't the only European plants in the gardens at the Weir. There's agapanthus in abundance, lillies and even hydrangeas as well as a few non native trees.
Apart from a small family of ring necked parrots I didn't see any other birds or animals, they were more than likely getting settled in shady places ready for the heat of the day...
