Absolute frustration has descended on me, an issue with my laptop, it is no longer connecting to the internet.
I spent a whole sleepless night investigating what the issue was, and my detective skills presented me with the answer.
The WiFi adapter inside the laptop is no longer working!
It's an expensive fix, as you need to get inside the laptop to replace the adapter card.
So I opted for the second solution I found. A USB WiFi adapter. I thought it would be as easy as putting it in the computer, then presto, internet access again.
Nope!
I have to download the program onto my computer first. But I can't get connected to the blinking internet!
So then I remembered there was an ethernet cable that came with the modem. After two days of searching, I found the safe place I put it in. But again I was presented with defeat, because the connection doesn't fit into my laptop.
Now it looks like I need an adapter for the ethernet cable, which hopefully will fix the issue.
Given that the laptop is only three years old, I am a tad reluctant to buy a new one just yet...
