A flock of carnabys I encountered at the beginning of November, I recall the morning well. This family wasn't as shy as these magnificent birds normally are. I love watching them as they selected a flower break the stalk off and then begin nibbling on the bushy red flowers.
The footpath was absolutely covered in the discarded blooms.
They don't tend to eat the whole flower, and some flowers are dropped immediately, another selected in it's place. Perhaps not succulent enough?
I could watch them for hours, a happy family enjoying a fresh meal of fluffy red flowers. Precious indeed...
