A Miracle....

A miracle has been bestowed upon Charlie, after a few years of enduring a dreadful skin condition which the first three vets I saw said was definitely a food allergy. I had all three cats on a single protein diet, yet still the issue continued.

Around a month ago I took him to a different vet to get a fresh set of eyes on the situation. He was so lovely and more importantly, Charles was so relaxed during the visit he curled up in a ball and went to sleep after his examination. I have never seen him this relaxed at the vets, as well as that he slept all the way home. This was a real surprise. 

The biggest surprise however was yet to come.

This vet did not agree with the other vets I had seen. Seeing he was on a single protein hypoallergenic food he should not have still been getting the dreadful skin rash. The food should have sorted it. He thought it environmental, and that could take years to work out.

He checked for a rare allergy by doing a skin scraping of one of the raised red patches, this was negative. So, home we went with some medication.

The skin irritation began healing rather swiftly, yet to my utter surprise once off the medication all of his fur has grown back on his body and is continuing to thicken up. This has not happened with any other treatment he has been given over the past three years. 

He is no longer a neurotic itchy mess, instead he is calm and incredibly playful. Might I add extremely talkative too! 

I haven't changed anything I use in the house, last summer he was an itchy ball of infected rashes; all the same plants and grasses are in flower, environmentally nothing has changed either. This is truly an unexpected, yet amazing transformation for Charlie. 

I am not sure what has changed, yet incredibly grateful for this miraculous healing and seeing the adorable Charles blossoming into the relaxed and regal boy he should have always been...
