Someone had put a handful of seed out as a treat for birds next to the Kalamunda library. There's a large flock of homing pigeons who have taken to life in the wild, and seem to spend a lot of time in the gardens surrounding the library, and I wondered if this was who the seed was really for. They have adapted well to living free, but having some seed available for them is a really kind thing to have done.
This ring necked parrot was certainly enjoying this tasty snack.
There's always fresh water out around the Kalamunda library too, which in summer is especially important for survival.
It's refreshing to see people being so thoughtful for our wildlife...

Such a beautiful bird. I'd love to have those flying around near me.
I am happy to see that people feed the birds...and this is a beautiful bird. All birds need to eat, regardless of the breed. Lovely photos.
