Saving a centipede from being eaten by the chickens and placing it somewhere safe gave me the opportunity to get a really good look at it. These give a nasty bite, so I was very mindful when catching it to relocate it.
So many fascinating creatures live around us, and I have a live and let live attitude to all creatures.
These however are a particular favourite of the chickens. If one chicken is lucky enough to catch one, she has to make a dash for it before the rest of the flock realise what she has. Although each time I see one of the girls catch one, she is immediately chased around the garden until she can get far enough away to eat it.
This one however was safe for now...
