I Certainly Did...

I certainly did love it!
Paola Pivi had created the most amazing installation of colourful feathery polar bears.
They are fantastic!
I spent a long time admiring them from every angle.
This is such a playful exhibition and I love her fantasy version of polar bears, these are so life-like I kept expecting them to move.
There is a somber note to these delightful polar bears, that is the vulnerability the bears are facing with the changes in climate.
Paola Pivi certainly has come up with a sensational way to bring the polars bears plight to the fore...

I Don't Go..

I don't go into the city often, in fact I can't even recall the last time I was here.
I did make the exception to head down from the trees and to The Art Gallery of Western Australia to see an exhibition I had heard a lot about.
Me being me, meant that I arrived early and the gallery was still closed, so I had a little wander around the area surrounding the gallery entrance as I waited.
Seeing so many tall buildings is very alien to me these days, and I must admit that I was glad there was a green space to enjoy.
Since I had last been into the city there has been a lot of changes, many new buildings have sprung up and sleepy Perth seems to have had a modern makeover.
Observing from a distance was as far as I wanted to go though as feathery polar bears were beckoning...

I Could See...

I could see Charlie going through the process of wondering if exploring this bag was a good idea. He found out it definitely wasn't as he headed to the car, and eventually the vet.
His allergy has flared up and thus he needed some more medication to stop the itching.
He's very good at the vets and just sits quietly watching all those strange dog creatures sharing the waiting room.
On the counter there was a scented candle which apparently doesn't smell like anal glands, a customer gave it to one of the vets as a joke. I found it amusing.
Once home, Charlie exited the cat carrier in a dash, taking an instant to cast a backward glance to make sure he was clear of it and safely home again...

The Bassendean Gallery...

The Bassendean Gallery was something I heard about yesterday morning, it sounded so interesting that I went to have a look for myself.
This area was being targeted with graffiti and the shire of Bassendean was getting fed up of having to paint over the graffiti on a regular basis. So they decided on a different approach to combat vandalism

By clicking on the highlighted red writing you will be taken to the website for a full explanation.

I know that this kind of art isn't for everyone, but I have to say that I could appreciate the talent displayed here. There are 50 pieces in total and there are several which really stood out.

The pathway leads down to Derbal Yerrigan/Swan River where a different kind of canvas presented itself to be admired...
