Seven Ducklings...

Seven ducklings along with their doting and vigilant parents are spending the days in my garden. They began showing up last weekend and thankfully all seven are still healthy and thriving.
The parents are obviously very familiar with my little garden haven, in the summer months I can have up to 70 ducks relaxing in the garden.
Each year parents bring their fledglings to the garden. Fresh cool water is vital for wildlife in the sweltering Western Australia summers.

This is the only the second time I've had newly hatched ducklings being introduced to the garden. I have to say I feel very privileged.
Getting family photos was a little bit challenging as the family kept moving.

I also have plenty of duckling level water bowls, as the quendas joeys also need low shallow water bowls for safety reasons.
I am also not going to do any mowing until they are a little bigger as the weeds give them extra coverage when out from the understory.

Looking forward to watching these gorgeous babies getting stronger day by day...
