The Ducklings...

The ducklings are still visiting and thriving in my secret little haven, each day they are a little bigger. And a little more difficult for their parents to keep under control. Seven ducklings going in seven different directions is definitely a challenge for mum and dad.
Because the parents trust me I am able to get really close to these seven little angels, although I am mindful not to tame them at all. It is a challenge I have to say, as they are utterly gorgeous.

Mum and dad showed signs of exhaustion today which I managed to capture in a couple of photos. Mum was sound asleep and dad could barely keep his eyes open. Thankfully, the ducklings settled down for a nap close to the cottage and all of them got a decent long sleep in the sunshine.

I have put out the spare cat litter tray and filled it with fresh water, giving the ducklings somewhere to paddle. The last eight photos were taken with my mobile phone from inside as they were enjoying a splash and a drink.
I added a second bowl of water later in the day as they are a bit squashed trying to all fit in at once now. I might need to find an even larger container over the next couple of weeks.

I do really feel very blessed to have this lovely family spending their days here. When I am home I barely get anything done, I just want to sit and watch them as much as possible...
