Truly magical is how I feel about the pin cushion hakea flowers.
Each year I am mesmerised as if seeing them for the first time.
The transitions these flowers go through to bloom is indeed unusual.
The unfolding of the flowers is not a quick process.
The soft white scales which cover the flowers takes a few days, sometimes longer to shed.
Once the flower is completely free it then begin to transform into a beautiful globular flower.
Hakea Laurina blooms from April until July, which means I am enthralled for months...

A gift from God!
So beautiful.
Another unusual flower that we don't see here. It's beautiful.
