Following...

Following a trail at Whiteman Park I actually hadn't noticed before took me on a lovely mid afternoon escapade. The land is still dry, as the rains haven't settled in as yet.
I stood on a small wooden bridge which was overflowing with dried leaves, but not much else. I will venture back once winter has arrived to see if a little brook flows here during the wet season.

I came to a water hole which was well hidden, the water level was really low; although I was surprised to see there was still quite a considerable amount of water still in there. There was a flock of Australian wood ducks scattered around the waters edge, many scurried away when they heard me approaching. Unlike my wood ducks visitors at the cottage, these seemed very wary of people.

There were a few native blooms decorating some of the trees. With other trees laden with flower buds dangling. Many of the native trees actually wait for the rains before they share their blooms with the world...

A long walk surrounded by nature is good for the soul.
