Summer in Western Australia really is unbearable, the heat relentless and exhausting. Trying to keep the garden hydrated and alive is a challenge, as is keeping myself cool.
The kitty kids sprawl out on the tiles in the bathroom, bellies upwards in an attempt to cope. The chickens and the wild birds gasp for breath, panting as they seek refuge in the shadows.
It could be winter all year round for me. These southern hemispher summers really are draining, and the season lingers far too long...
