Grevilleas...

Grevilleas and one of my flowering vines are currently the only plants producing blooms at the moment, the sweltering heat the culprit of my lack lustre garden.
Most of the plants are in hibernation mode as they deal with the draining summer temperature. There has been a subtle shift in the length of the days, the sun beginning it's retreat as autumn inches slowly forward.
My fig tree is laden with fruit, I don't net my fruit trees, rather I allow the birds, rabbits, chickens and possums to feast on the figs. I've yet to see the quendas enjoying the fruit, but that's not to say that they are not partaking when I am not watching.
The artichoke flowers have become somewhat fluffy as they dry out. I am still allowing nature to take her course instead of snipping off the flowerheads. I am wondering how the flower meadow will cope this year after the arrival of my resident bunnies and quendas. Given both are happily now settled in, I may find that all new shoots may be eaten. Hopefully some seedlings will survive.
The grass has definitely given up, as it's constantly nibbled by most of the gardens occupants. As well as by the fly in fly out ducks. Hopefully it will be revived in autumn when the weather cools and the rains begin...
