Needing To Recharge...

Needing to recharge in the garden this morning after dealing with the cyber police worked it's magic and calmed me down. The stress connected to identity theft is not something I would wish upon anyone.

Bathing in the gloriously rejuvenating vibration of my plants really does wonders for my soul. Especially when I discovered two patches hidden in the garden where tiny mushrooms were flourishing in small clumps. There is something magical about mushrooms, I am delighted that they pop up all around my garden.

Nature certainly is far more therapeutic for me than humans...

A Flock...

A flock of carnabys I encountered at the beginning of November, I recall the morning well. This family wasn't as shy as these magnificent birds normally are. I love watching them as they selected a flower break the stalk off and then begin nibbling on the bushy red flowers.
The footpath was absolutely covered in the discarded blooms.
They don't tend to eat the whole flower, and some flowers are dropped immediately, another selected in it's place. Perhaps not succulent enough?
I could watch them for hours, a happy family enjoying a fresh meal of fluffy red flowers. Precious indeed...

As The Days...

As the days warm up my wild little flower meadow is beginning to struggle with the stress of the midday heat. Still, it's untamed beauty continues to mesmerise me. I have decided to leave the artichokes to go to seed, mainly because I have never seen an artichoke in flower. They produce a thistle like flower, which I am excited to see.

Some of the cornflowers and the daisies are already drying out and producing seed pods. Some I remove and scatter around other parts of the garden in hope's of spreading the meadow. Some are eaten by the birds, and those left behind self seed for next year.

Bees and butterflies are still in abundance in my little meadow, I spend a lot of time down here this time of year. There is something quite whimsical being surrounded by such a glorious profusion of flowers that are mostly taller than me.

Of course elsewhere in the garden there are equally beautiful scenes. Yet it is here that I soak up so much enjoyment, standing still as bees dizzyingly buzz on flowers, doing tiny circles on the petals, drunk on nectar. Equally beautiful is to have butterflies dancing around me.

It's exquisite being in the centre of so many tiny beings as they feast amongst the blooms...
