A spectacular end to a heatwave that had been extremely challenging to deal with. Heading out to lock the chickens in for the night I was taken aback with these glorious hues.
The scent of rain lingered in the still oppressive air, yet I was hopeful that rain would actually fall.
With the rumbles of thunder heard in the distance and then strikes of lightening very close to the cottage I was joyous as the first patters of rain splashed down onto the parched earth....
