Visiting three nurseries in one day proved an interesting day out.
Starting with visiting a garden centre I pass somewhat frequently yet I have only visited it once around three or maybe four years ago. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement, the only plants alive were a selection of succulents, the rest of the plants withered or dead. To give some positivity towards this nursery they did have a couple of rather interesting planters and garden decor ideas. Although I left feeling depleted, especially after the owner explained that he only waters the plants once per day, he stated that he didn't see the point in watering three times per day like most nurseries do. With that attitude I did ponder why this person wants to own a nursery.

Next, I stopped at Dawson's Garden Centre, this was a refreshing contrast to the previous place. An array of colour greeted me as well as the cooling mist from the sprinklers which were giving the plants a midday drink. Dawson's specialise in roses, although they have a fabulous selection of all other types of plants as well as interesting mature gardens to wander through for a bit of inspiration.
Lastly, I went to my favourite garden centre, Zanthorrea. Greeted by a beautiful frog I was really able to see the difference in what makes a garden centre thrive with an abundance of customers, even on a sweltering day. An inviting setting and flourishing plants. Not a lot of natives are flowering at the moment, those that are however were absolutely stunning, especially the flowering gums...
