I Hadn't Been To...

I hadn't been to Lake Leschenaultia in six months, the last time I can recall going must have been in early August. This is really unusual, as the lake is a mere 5 minutes from my home. Although if I take into consideration  all the mishaps that happened last year, walking wasn't something I did much of after June.

It was so refreshing arriving just after the gates were open, no one was there, the shadows were still long and the wind was cooling. I was really happy to see that the water level was still fairly high for this time of the year, thankfully the summer has not been as brutal this year. We have not had the relentless weeks with temperatures over 40°, instead its lingered around the mid 30's.

I do always enjoy seeing the ducks who come to my property around the lake, I am not sure if they recognise me or not, they don't tend to get out of my way so I feel there is some recognition, especially when I speak.
The calming effect of the lake always offers such a peaceful meditation. Walking, watching and listening takes me on a journey of peacefulness into the realm of my earthly mother step by step...
