Waking up to this beauty each morning is priceless...
The daily adventures, musings and wanderings of an earth guardian and garden fairy. My love of nature and all of Gaia's creatures is expressed through my photography, where I hope to inspire others to reconnect with the bounty of loveliness that surrounds us...

A Gentler Morning...
A genntler morning in the garden today after yesterday's epic workout. I had a couple of bags of sugar cane mulch which I was going to use somewhere else, but was suddenly inspired.
After watering these plants with a liquid compost I decided after all they'd been through yesterday I would use it here.
I had been thinking recently about redoing a few areas of the garden, so why not start here.
I also applied the liquid compost to what is left of the grass in a hope I can nurture it back.
I really don't like the dusty earth look, so fingers crossed I can cultivate a lush green lawn once again.
The chickens were extremely happy and helpful as they ate bugs that have been unearthed with all the work the past couple of days.
With peaceful music adding to the ambience, the vibrations of the notes pulsating across the earth and into the root systems of all the plants bringing harmony to all...

As This...
As this illustration shows rainbow lorikeets are vibrantly stunning birds. Here in Western Australia though they are considered pests as they are not native to this part of Australia. Fewer than ten of these birds escaped from captivity and have proceeded to create a massive population here.
There is a small flock that comes to the garden seasonally, apart from being incredibly loud, they usually don't do much harm to the garden.
The rainbow lorikeet is perhaps the most famous of Australia's eight lorikeets, there are however seven other lorikeets. The coconut lorikeet,red-collared lorikeet, scaly- breasted lorikeet, purple crowned lorikeet, musk lorikeet, varied lorikeet and lastly the smallest of them all the little lorikeet...

With Another Set...
With another set of hands helping me today and the luxury of a trailer, my monumental task has been completed.
Before my son arrived I managed to drag a few dead trees nearer the driveway and then bagged up most of what was laying about on the ground.
After three full trailer loads I have left the garden tools where they lay and retreated inside for a much earned break...
About Half...
About half an hour after taking this photo of the weekly message outside Lornie Lou's, I found myself doing a random act of kindness.
As I turned the corner of my street, an elderly couple were pulled over on the curb looking distressed.
I pulled up and asked if they were alright, did they need help?
The woman who was driving said they were lost.
Did I know where the doctors surgery was?
I said I did, and suggested that she follow me as I wasn't sure she'd remember the directions.
So, I turned around and escorted them to the doctor's surgery.
I immediately recalled the message and thought it quite serendipitous that this situation presented itself...

The Third Day...
The third day of cutting down the dead vine seems to be seeing some sort of progress. It's definitely slow going. The bagging up seems to take so much time, and then it's trips backwards and forwards to the rubbish tip...
I Thought I'd Try...
I thought I'd try a couple of special effect filters on one of Miss Bears recent photos.
A bit of arty fun!
I have to admit she looks particularly beautiful with pink fur...

Protected By...
Protected by a canopy of dense dried leaves and wedged in-between the thorny branches of my native finger lime plant was a really great place for a nest.
I uncovered so many used nests last weekend when I began the task of clearing the dead black coral pea vine. This one though is staying where it is as the thorns are incredibly sharp...
The Sky...
The sky yesterday morning was so dramatic it was difficult to keep my eyes on the road. The promise of glorious rain held up in the clouds.
I stopped for fuel partway down to the suburbs, the clouds were incredibly dark lingering silently above the petrol station.
I was waiting for a thunderclap to break the eerie silence, it was like everything was holding its breath, waiting for a thunderous explosion to quench the thirst of a parched land.
Yet the closer I got to the bottom of hills and down to the flat of the sea of rooftops and tarmac, the rain had already been and I only caught the tail end of it...
