On my recent trip to Mandurah I was blessed to encounter a black swan family. These majestic birds mate for life and share the incubation period their cygnets. Black swans are a little smaller than their white cousins, they are however, equally beautiful.
When I was returning back to the car, the little family were out on the water, teaching their baby how to duck under the water. I was a little too far away to get close ups.
I watched them until they drifted out of sight, it was certainly the highlight of my day trip...

Beautiful series, dear friend. I love the black swans!
What a treat to see these beautiful birds. Even better to see them teaching their young.
The black swan was beautiful - not the ugly duckling!
