Yesterday I took a drive to Toodyay to go to the annual agricultural show. Toodyay isn't that far from Chidlow, only a 40 minute drive.
It was a perfect spring day, which meant meandering around was really pleasant. There were quite a lot of stalls open with a variety of food and wares for sale, nothing really caught my attention though.
There was an old gentleman with four sheep and his border collie who were walking through the crowd demonstrating the dogs skill of rounding up the sheep. I thought the sheep looked quite terrified, and the dog got into trouble when he came over to me for a pat and to say hello.
There was a great stall from Kanyana, which is a wildlife rescue place in the Perth hills. They had a fantastic selection of puppets based on native birds and animals.
There was also a little stall from Ranger Redz Zoo and Conservation Park, with a selection of native animals. The tawny frogmouth was absolutely adorable, and quite sleepy, which makes perfect sense as they are nocturnal. There was also a shy woylie in a snuggle bag as well as a couple of bobtail lizards, a striking python and some snake necked turtles. I spent quite a while talking with the stall attendants.
There was a lot of activity in the show ring with a few equestrian events taking place.
I also found the wool pavillion really interesting, and took a series of photos of the wool on display, before heading back to the car...

Very interesting - you saw all these things on your walk yesterday? You have a real love for animals.
