A Beautiful Sunny...

A beautiful sunny yet slightly chilly day was perfect for a walk around Tomato Lake
Greeted by two ducklings and their parents was a wonderful start, these two were growing their feathers through the fluffy down which gave them a cute shabby appearance.
I captured a coot with a mouthful of leaves which was taken back to her nest that she was skillfully building.
The stroll around the lake always has views that catch my attention. I was impressed with the addition of newly planted garden beds at different points around the lake, purposely for providing habitat for the wildlife.
I was thrilled to pass another two proud parents with their brood of ducklings. They were all relaxing on the grass, and didn't seem too phased about being cooed over.
I was making my way to the ibis nesting area, I was curious if the ibis would still be nesting here as a lot of the trees died during the summer. I was thrilled to see the ibis still nesting here, despite the lack of foliage. Their nests don't appear that secure this season though, which makes them a bit precarious for the chicks.
Lastly I caught a glimpse of a coots chick swimming along with it's parents.
I left with a happy heart...
