Yellagonga Regional Park is 47 kilometre drive from home, and not an area that I venture to often.
As I was out this way I decided to stop and look at the old house and stables that can be seen from the road
Western Australia's invasion isn't one that has any happy moments, and perhaps that is why there are very few reminders still lingering from those murderous times.
Even now the scars are deep of what was done to the traditional owners of the land.
I found this to be a forlorn place. It's swampland which should be far more abundant than it is. I did wonder if the land was scarred by too many incidents in the past.
The day was warm, yet I only noticed a couple of birds in flight, and a raven walking through the grass hunting for food and a tiny snake eyed skink.
Seeing snippets of history are always sobering, yet this place left me feeling rather sad...
