A few weeks ago I went to the open day at Romancing The Stone Garden, located in Maida Vale. It's the second time that I have visited the gardens. The stonework was the brilliant idea of the owner, decades ago. He transformed the block of land into a fairyland, complete with a hobbit and dwarf village, as well a an amphitheatre and layered terrace gardens. This time the gardens were not as lush as my last visit, which was slightly disappointing. Another addition to my last visit were a couple of little stalls selling goods and a singer and devonshire teas were on offer too.
The stream that passes through the property was quite low, that was also a surprise given the amount of rain we have had this year. I did wonder whether there was something blocking the flow a bit further upstream...
