Getting Out...

Getting out and exploring the bush after many months was definitely therapeutic in more ways than one. The previous night we were granted the first heavy rain, so I thought I'd venture out to Noble Falls and see how the water level was after summer.
Everything had a zing about it, the songs of tiny honeyeaters dancing on the gentle breeze.
Sometimes there's still a trickle dribbling over the waterfall at summers end, yesterday though there were only a few small puddles left.
Seeing the bottom of brooks and streams is a frequent sight here in the summer months. Sometimes even lakes and rivers shrink as the soaring heat of summer sucks up any moisture lingering about.
Having just recovered from the second eye surgery in eight months, and recuperating from other medical challenges I really enjoyed being out in nature once again, albeit at a slower pace.
There were signs of the shifting of seasons, subtle yet still visible. Soon the water birds will return, nests will be made and chicks nurtured. And the restorative waters will nourish all who visit, the energy of the bush always feels so vibrant in the cooler months, scents drift by enticing healing.
As autumn approaches colour begins to decorate the landscape once more.
The dusty dryness of summer receding away as winds from the east arrive once more, bringing with them cooler nights and frosty morns...
