A day out at a little place called Two Rocks, a coastal town north of Perth.
One of the attractions were these limestone sculptures, sadly though I was rather disappointed. The sculptures have weathered as they have been here from the late 1970's, so I expected as much. I just thought that they would have been in a more picturesque setting, but it's like they were placed here and forgotten.
I could imagine a tended fragrant garden surrounding them, giving the area a more inviting feel, instead of the backdrop of drab buildings and a carpark.
There was a board explaining the serpent sculpture, but nothing about any of the others.
The waugal is a serpent like creature that by all accounts sounds somewhat terrifying, from what I could make out on the signboard.
I don't think I'd want to be dragged into the depths by such a fearsome creature.
King Neptune which is a massive piece was away on its own up on a little hill overlooking the Indian Ocean.
I actually had fun capturing beams of sunlight around him.
Given they have weathered many a storm and baked in the relentless summer months, they are still standing, and that says a lot about the craftsmanship of the artist who created them all those years ago...

How fun to see all these sculptures even if they are a bit world weary.
It actually was fun Sharon.
