Another Piece...

Another piece of art that caught my eye in a Midland shopping mall recently.

I was in a rush so I didn't have time to go down for a closer look. I did appreciate it though as I was dashing past.

Black swans are smaller than their pristine white relatives, they are equally striking though. The black swan is the emblem of Western Australia, so was lovely to see this artistic expression of one of Western Australia's larger and stunning birds...

 

Art Is...

Art is transforming the streets of Midland, Midland is a large suburb found at the bottom of the foothills, north east from Perth's central business district.

 It's currently going through a bit of a revamp; as a new train and bus station is being built. The old station was really rundown and unfortunately a draw for a rough crowd to hang around. 

Midland has never been a really trendy area, however perhaps this is about to change. There's definitely more artistic expression in the area now, and that can only be a sign of things to come...

 

I Have Found...

I have found myself covered in bruises and out of action for the foreseeable future, thanks to Miss Bear!

I was dashing to answer the door when she decided to run between my legs.

Thankfully nothing is broken, but I hit the floor with a terrible thud. I am black and blue all down my left side with a swollen knee and a considerable amount of internal bruising. 

Miss Bear came away unscathed of course, and is now a doting little purr machine... 

 

Parks And Art...

Parks and art are a brilliant combination, although I should hastily add, that I find Mother Nature to be the greatest artist of all.

I pass this park frequently on my travels through Ellenbrook, I've stopped here before a few years ago to view the sculptures, the other week I felt drawn to stop again.

Taking a moment.

Feeling the suns warmth.

Listening to the gentle rustle of the leaves.

Allowing time to stop for a moment...

 

Seeing A Friend...

Seeing a friend is sometimes all you need...

Given My Kitty Kids...

Given my kitty kids are indoor kitties, they absolutely love investigating everything that comes into the house.

Especially bags and shoes.

Their senses were tantalised yesterday when I brought home a gift from Japan. After taking out the gift I gave Miss Bear and Charlie the bag and wrapping paper to sniff. Bear thought it smelt so good she tried eating it, so many unusable scents must have been infused in the paper. 

They were occupied for quite some time, Charlie lost interest first. Bear played with the wrapping paper for a while before she ended up settling down for a nap inside the bag. 

I guess all that stimulation is tiring business...

 

Sometimes...

Sometimes we simply need time out...

 

Tranquility...

Tranquility is something I crave, pockets of silence found cocooned by tall trees. Trees standing strong like sentinels; guardians of nature. Protectors for the tiniest of beings with their silent presence.

Within their boughs safety is found.

More than ever I am retreating from the realm of the human.

Instead, I head for the nurturing wholesome embrace only nature can provide...
