Australian Magpie......

A new regular visitor to my garden, who brings with him his delightfully enchanting songs...... This is an Australian Magpie, they are found throughout Australia, they eat a varied diet, which is mainly made up of invertebrates, although they are quite tolerant of humans and will become regular feeders at your home, feeding straight from your hand for tasty piece of raw meat. They are very territorial, especially around the breeding season where they are renowned for swooping pedestrians and pushbike riders as they defend their precious chicks. As I already said they have a beautiful song, to wake to hear a magpie singing is like waking in heaven...........
