A Striated Pardalote....

A striated pardalote was having a feast on some insects in a small hole on the front of the house.

Not wishing to disturb him from his mission I kept a safe distance to watch his antics.

I did wonder for a moment if he was building a nest, however after he flew off I couldn't see anything inside the hollow.

Also known as Pickwick, Wittachew and Chip-Chips they are stunning little birds.

I see them in the garden quite frequently, but as with a lot of the other birds that frequent the garden they normally appear when I do not have my camera handy......
