There Was Something......

There was something in the air tonight, a supernatural atmosphere seemed to descend upon us, a mysterious unearthly feeling.

Spirit seemed to pick up on the change of energy and took to the garage roof for a better vantage point to view the action, although when he started to meow, I knew yet again, he had forgotten the way down.
Heading for the gate I thought he had remembered and settled back in the sun to sky watch, loosing myself in the surreal display above me.

My concentration was broken however with Tarmal's sudden cries, gazing upward he was watching Spirit still attempting to get down.
Having never been outside of his garden playpen I did wonder what he makes of his big brother prancing along high overhead, bless his little heart his face was a picture indeed.
Spirit meantime had decided that he would attempt to jump onto the boundary fence, having tried this once before I knew what would happen and tried to capture an action shot.
I knew he could not land on the fence as it is not wide enough.
If you look closely you can just see the tip of his tail as he headed towards a very hard and undignified landing on the other side.
At least no one was there to see it though, or more to the point laugh.
With all the commotion over and Tarmie reassured that all was well I returned my attention to the heavens, watching our Creator's outstanding composition unfold above me...............

The Miracle Of.....

The miracle of the
Holy Instant
Lies in your willingness
To
Let it be
What it is.........

Back At Home.......

Back at home enjoying the last of the days warmth I sat and watched the joyfulness of my feline companions.
Making a beeline for the back door when they heard my key turning in the lock, they wasted no time in scurrying out into the fresh air.
There is so much to explore out here in their personal playground, each day sees them viewing the garden a little different than they did the day before.
Always watching for the gliding butterflies that come to frequent our little wonderland, Pixie keeps a keen eye scanning for movement.
Tarmie however has taken to examining the plants, maybe he is getting green paws?
Even Spirit gets in on the act, rolling around and playing like a kitten again, it really is such a delight to see them enjoying their lives so much.
But of course all that playing takes it's toll.
And soon one has to retreat into the warmth of the house.
 Snuggling down in the sun.
 For an afternoon siesta.
As for me, well, I have had a simply divine day, a day spent infusing myself to all I encountered, feeling the deep pulsations of love from our Earth Mother oozing into my soul, leaving me feeling utterly contented...........

And Last.......

And last but not least we reach our final destination for today.
All Saints Church Upper Swan.
This quaint little church was built at the furtherest point that Captain James Stirling reached when sailing up the Swan River in 1829.
I wanted to follow the path down to the river but sadly they have no paths leading down.
It was very peaceful here, which I thoroughly enjoyed, rustling leaves, again lots of birds happily chirping away, but hidden within the foliage.

A tranquil spot to sit and allow the world to pass by.
And at last a bird, a parrot, I believe the locals call them twenty eights, because they sound like they are saying twenty eight when they are calling out.
Okay....
They are also known as Australian Ringneck Parrots, they are really very colourful birds, sadly though my shot did not capture the brilliance of the feathers, maybe next time!
Then I spotted this little chap, which is an Australian Magpie, they have the most delightful song, so enchanting I could listen to it for hours.

And that is it for today, it is time to return to my little retreat and furry companions to spend the rest of the day enjoying the sun in stillness........

Our Next Stop....

Our next stop was at the Yagan Memorial Park located in Upper Swan.
This memorial to Aboriginal leader Yagan was officially opened on Saturday 10 July 2010 beside the Swan River at Upper Swan.

Yagan lived in the Swan Valley when Governor Stirling established the Swan River Colony in 1829. In the early days of the settlement Yagan was friendly with the settlers. Unfortunately misunderstandings arose between the settlers and Nyoongah people, leading to the eventual murder of Yagan on 11 July 1833.

The head of Yagan was removed and placed in the wedge of a smoking tree to preserve it. The head was later sent to England and eventually buried in a cemetery in Liverpool. The Nyoongah community successfully returned Yagan’s head, or kaat, to Western Australia in 1997 but the location of his body is unknown.
Following a private traditional Nyoongah burial ceremony, Premier Colin Barnett dedicated the park as a memorial to Yagan. The reburial date was chosen as it was the anniversary of Yagan’s death and coincided with the end ofNAIDOC Week.
Although it looks like we are in the middle of nowhere there is the constant drone of traffic which detracts from the memorial in my opinion, as it is not a peaceful place to visit.
Again I was the only person visiting my chosen destinations, three out of three places all to myself, not bad for a glorious sunny Sunday.
Having stood in an ants nest whilst taking photographs at the Sculpture Park I was mindful of where I was walking, and of course standing whilst capturing our journey, one encounter with a fierce mob of ants is enough for one day.
I did approve of the way this memorial park has been made to look rather harsh, like a desert, infertile and desolate, it emphasises the indigenous tone of the area.
More native flowers were blooming, this one is a Kangaroo Paw, they are quite lovely really, although I don't think kangaroos paws really do look this!
Not sure what this pink flower is, my guess is that it is a type of bottlebrush flower, it was covered in bees, which had me keeping my distance, one close encounter today is enough for me.

These remind me of the Thistles of Scotland, perhaps they may be of the same family?
Looking down into the grassy valley below me was a real treat, I was thrilled to see such an abundance of greenery, birds were still chirping all around me, but do you think I could see one?
Nope!

Heading back to my trusty steed I felt quietly centred, relaxed, ready to return to my little haven.
Although there is just one more stop I wish to make........
