Snakeskin fruit grew along the roadside in abundance, having never seen such a rare and exotic fruit before I was eager to taste it, peeling it was a little difficult as the skin is sharp, once inside though the flesh is soft and tender, the taste, simply divine, in appearance much like a chestnut.
I was addicted from the first mouthful, my taste buds crying out for more.
Unable to discover more vines we submitted to the tangy fragrance of the orange orchards surrounding us, Lita went to barter the price for a bag full of oranges which was entertaining to watch.
Once a price was agreed we both proceeded to pick the juicy jewels from the bountiful branches that drooped above us.
Here though, the oranges are ripe when the skin is still a vibrant lime green, which seemed rather bizarre to me being accustom to oranges being orange.............
