Taking Myself...
Taking myself down to the river to sit and be, soaking up the ambience of the calming vista before me.
Breathing deeply, allowing myself to simply be.
The ripples on the water lulled me as soothing patterns drifted across the water as they did images of the past year slide into my mind.
2024 hasn't been an easy year as health issues reached a rather confronting climax a couple of months ago. It's been quite a challenging experience. A few lessons learned, chapters closed, leaving room for more to begin.
When ones health becomes chronic the whole body is affected. Each day was a struggle. All I looked forward to was getting home and getting into bed. Having to keep going was very difficult, as rest was what I craved.
Mentally I was struggling to keep going, I made a disastrous decision as my health was leading up to it's crescendo, and that just seemed to make everything worse.
Because I had stupidly removed any chance of getting some time off to recover.
Another big lesson, don't make changes when you're seriously unwell.
So I carried on and luckily after tests and more tests I am finally having treatment.
It's been nearly a fortnight since the treatment has begun, my body and mind are beginning to settle as symptoms become less intense.
I feel I have breathing space, at last. Clarity. Peace.
And that is a wonderful way to end a year and to begin a new one.
And perhaps I might get my camera out of the drawer and reacquaint myself with it and begin slowly to go out once again into the wonderful wild bush that has inspired as well as healed...
Finally Out Of The Box...
Finally out of the box a gift all the way from Germany was in its rightful place. This sturdy seed holder has confused my girls along with the wild ducks.
Brulee was the first to figure out what this contraption was for...

A Very Fluffy...
A very fluffy thank you gift was given to me, it was a big surprise and very sweet.
The kitty kids loved the smells on it though...

Several Weeks Ago...
Several weeks ago I visited AQWA the large aquarium down on the coast. The aquarium gives visitors a view of life beneath Western Australian waters. I found the main aquarium rather depressing, the sharks in particular seemed to lack any spark I didn't stay there very long as I felt a very gloomy vibe.
I did however find the small aquarium really vibrant and full of life and colour. One banded butterfish kept coming up to observe me as I was observing it. The interaction went on for around 45 minutes, I left smiling after that.
The mural at the entrance as well as two impressive photos of stingrays were really great.
I also took a couple of shots outside, looking out across the Indian Ocean and back towards the coast...
