Getting Out For...

Getting out for a walk after a couple of weeks of rest was so refreshing. I didn't go far, but I did enjoy every second of the wind in my hair. I've really missed my walks, I simply adore being out amongst the wildlife and nature in general. 

Seeing a pair of black swans really made my day. Even though they are native to the area, they are seldom seen. They seemed as relaxed as I felt. Of course other glimpses capture my attention. Having only my phone I didn't take as many photos as I normally would. But I think that today was more about being part of the scene instead of looking for a photo opportunity...

 

After Many Many Years...

After many many years I decided to get a Christmas tree, I felt a little festive decoration would brighten me up a tad. I also was lucky enough to inherit blue roo which adds an Australian twist to a festive setting.  I was very pleased with the kitty kids as they didn't seem terribly interested.

Or so I thought!

Charles decided to try and climb it, and proceeded to completely ruin the tree  and smash some baubles. It only lasted three days!

The top part of the tree is broken and now has a stubby sort of a look to it. 

But I think with a bit of titivating it might just last until Christmas Day...

 

The Unfolding...

The unfolding of my artichokes has begun. Each day they expand a little more. They have very sharp spikes at the tip of each of the unfurling foliage layers, I stupidly touched one to see how sharp they were. Very sharp as it happens...
