The Art Of............

The art of listening is a dying skill, it seems that it is relativity easy to read another's mind.  Apparently, all one has to do is take whatever they are going through/thinking/feeling/holding onto and shake it around a bit until it resembles the thoughts of the person/s who is creating angst within their life story.
Clever?
Hmm, no....
Seems that these days, people are far too eager to pass the buck to another when a good hard look at ones self is the order of the day, society is the cause of this, as for many years it has been the fashion to blame anyone but yourself for any ailment you have within your heart/life.
Trouble is, that it is creating a race of bullheaded stubborn humans unable to listen, feel or see with any clarity.
I hear on two levels, with my heart and with my ears, it assists me in attuning into any unbalanced scenarios that I may encounter.
Recently though, I have noticed that people do not actually hear what I am saying, that they will be too busy formulating their own response in their head to even consider the noise coming out from my mouth, they are not hearing the full context of the conversation, hence any responses are somewhat confusing!
Which is why I expect there is so much dysfunction in the world, not only in personal relationships, but, also within the workplace, people are just too 'busy' to stop, and still themselves long enough to hear what is being said, hence, no one ever seems to hear a word that anyone else is saying, and it creates a merry-go-round of disconnection!
Perhaps it's the fact that most communication takes place with the aide of mechanical devices, not with real living breathing people relating to each other face to face?
Maybe it is, maybe it is not.....
Because, if you think about it, most people do not find the time to communicate one on one, as they are far 'too' busy and, when they do, they always have one ear hanging out for that ringing mobile telephone, just in case they might miss out on something.
Gone are the days where not every home had a telephone, and, if someone called and you missed it you would never know, well, not until they called again and told you so.
These days mobile devices have us acting like total morons, thinking that we can't leave the house without the facilities to talk to anyone we want to, listen to anything we wish to, or, watch anything we care to, no wonder the world is in utter chaos!

Listening is an art form, and a dying one at that, to be able to sit and focus upon the totality of
another person whilst they are communicating with you face to face, not interrupting, just silently listening, sadly,  is something few of us do any longer.
Being with another person completely, and, actually hearing what they are saying.
Hearing what ails them, and, what moves them, feeling them on a deep and intimate level.
I feel that perhaps it is about time we returned to a more intimate level of communication, one that would bring a greater level of unity to all mankind..............
