The Ducklings...

The ducklings are fast approaching taking their first flight with them now being nearly two months old.
Sadly one has died, not sure what has happened to it but there are only four babies now.

I was deeply saddened to see only four ducklings arrive yesterday, the parents were more vigilant than ever guarding their remaining four ducklings the trauma of their loss apparent.

The ducklings are now doing little jumps up and down while flapping their wings, strengthening them and preparing for their first ever flight to the lake, what an adventure awaits them there.

It has been a beautiful experience having them grow up here in the garden, and I know that they will continue to return to visit as most of the other ducks from the lake do, for a place to get fresh clean water or a few tasty treats or simply to spend some time resting in the garden.......

The circle of life. Hopefully the remaining four can do well.

It must be so much fun watching them grow up.

Yes quite true William, the circle of life, they have done well to survive walking to my place down the road each day and night.

It has been a gift Sharon.
